In the Blood by Suzan-Lori Parks is directed by Christine Woodworth in the Brown Building Theatre on April 17-22, 2012.
A shocking tragedy based on The Scarlet Letter, In The Blood tells the story of Hester and her five fatherless children. Hester tries to make her children's lives successful but living in poverty and having a seedy reputation due to her children’s five different fathers, causes her children’s future to grow dim. The play moves to the confessions of all who could have helped Hester and her children: the doctor, the social work system, and even a friend. Throughout the play, Hester struggles to find help for her children.
