Bachelor of Arts in Dance
The Dance major (B.A.) is designed to provide students with a more general education in dance. Requiring 122 semester hours, with 50 in dance, the BA is an option for those who desire a liberal arts emphasis, a double major, or a specific dance curriculum not emphasized in the other degree programs. Individualization is possible within this degree. BA students take studio technique courses in contemporary dance, ballet, and African dance, with elective courses in tap, jazz, hip-hop, performance, technology for dance, and somatic practices. In addition, all students complete courses in improvisation/choreography, dance production, kinesiology, and dance history.
K-12 Licensure is available with the BA degree at UNCG.
